THE POWERFUL GAMING EXPERIENCE WITH ALIENWARE M14X

The Alienware Laptops are the high ended gaming laptops by Dell that comes in different size categories, like 15 inch, 17 inch etc. The laptop being discussed is M14X Alienware laptop and is in 14 inch category, hence the name. The new laptop is basically same as the previous bulky and large M15X and M17X laptops and is more portable. The laptop also has the powerful Nvidia graphics support for ultimate gaming. The laptop is a bit bulky, not comparable to Sony Vaio Z or MacBook Air, but still is quite portable. The machine is powered by Intel Core i7 laptops, which is also a great enhancement by Dell.

The laptop has almost the same design as its predecessors. The body is brightly coloured and weighs around 6.5 pounds. The maximum height reaches 1.2 inches, so it could not be considered a thin laptop by any means. But the main reason for the launch of this machine is to provide portability to the Alienware laptops, as they are quite big and hard to carry around. The body has two grilles on the sides of the front end, which is for just design, not ventilation, as the case with the previous versions.

The 14-inch screen is a treat. The display size is 1600 x 900 pixel resolution and could be dropped down to 1366 x 768. The gaming experience is considerably good and the Klipsch speakers are good as ever. The laptop is equipped with the new GeForce GT555M, and is perfect for gaming. Games like Unreal Tournament and Street Fighter IV ran on 1400 x 900 pixel resolution, without any noticeable lag.

So, the people who are looking for intense gaming on a portable laptop would like to have this delight in their bags.

The keyboard and the track pad are quite funky as they are backlit. But there is more to them then one would notice. The back lights are configurable i.e. you could change the colours of the keyboard and track pad’s light and you can also control the keyboard light in sections. The keys are quite roomy and are separated from each other, even though they are not in the island design. The reason for the separated keys is that the gamers often use the keys, especially WSAD, so users don’t get confused with them.

The touch pad has a matte finish and is quite responsive, as it should be because it is a gaming laptop. There are two buttons available for the left and right click as well.

The machine is loaded with the Intel core i7 processor, with speeds reaching up to 2.3 GHz. The memory could be expanded to 8 GB and a 750GB hard disk is available. There are quite a few data ports, such as the USB 2.0 and 3.0, SD card reader etc. The optical drive is a DVD burner, but it would have been much appreciated to have a Blu-Ray. There is a video port combo available as well, which includes VGA, HDMI and a Mini Display port. The battery provides a 2 hours 45 minutes video playback, which is quite good for a gaming laptop.

The Alienware M14X, is a well equipped laptop that could be carried in a bag to your business trips or at vacations. The price does looks higher than usual at $2100 for the fully loaded ones and could fall to $1100 if the laptop is downgraded.

LG GENISIS

LG Genesis
LG, with US Cellular launched its new Genesis smart phone in May, 2011. The new phone features two, yes two touch screens, which had attracted a lot of users. The mobile also has a physical keyboard which gives the look of a miniature notebook. The phone is the smart phone version of its predecessor LG enV, as it has the same dual screen design.

The keyboard is quite roomy, with QWERTY layout. Running on Android 2.2 version, equipped with 5-MP camera and with some great pre-installed apps, this phone is available in the market from May, 2011.

The new Genesis is pretty much like its predecessors, LG enV Touch but, Genesis is a bit larger. With the dimensions of 4.23 inches tall, 2.4 inches wide and 0.66 inches deep, the phone gives look of a solid smart phone. It is also the heftiest smart phone in market, weighing around 6 ounces. The reason of the bulkiness could be the added Keyboard.

There are two touch screens with the front one measuring 3.5 inches. The display is an ordinary 480x800 pixels TFT screen, which disappoints many, because it could not be considered to the super LCD o the Super AMOLED screens found with the other trendy smart phones. But it does not feel that bad, because of the 16 million colours support it has. The screen does get washed out in bright sunlight.

Favourably, even though the images and video are not that bright, but the touch screens are very responsive and the accelerometers are quick to detect the change in axis. There are four touch sense buttons on the screen for contacts, phone book, messages and web browser. Other then these four, there are four normal touch buttons as well that are not part of the screen. They are for the standard home, menu, search and back shortcuts. The spines of the phone’s body accommodate a range of buttons and ports. The 3.5mm jack for headset and the Micro-USB port are on the right, while the dedicated camera key, the volume control and the power button are on the left side. The 5-megapixel camera and the flash LED are at the back.

As mentioned before, the phone is quite hefty, and the reason for that are the QWERTY layout keyboard and the second (internal) screen. The screen could be opened up to 180 degrees. The internal screen is same as the external one, except that it smaller in size, i.e. 3.2 inches. The keyboard keys are quite large and spacious and it is easy to use the keyboard. There is a dedicated navigation control and android keys on either side of the keyboard.

The phone runs on Android 2.2 and has some nice widgets and application pre-installed. There are LG’s own Facebook and Twitter applications that make the social networking more fun. The 5-MP camera could be used as camcorder in QVGA mode. The phone has 1GHz Snapdragon processor by Qualcomm in its core and is powered by a 1500mAh battery that gives 150 minutes talk time.

If the drawbacks such as speed i.e. 3G, not 4G and the ordinary display, could be balanced with the extra screen and a roomy keyboard advantages, then this phone is quite a good buy for $149.99 per year.

Electronic Product Reviews

Hello Everyone....sorry for posting after so much time.....I know you all missed me and my posts......and I am joking ;)

Anyways, now I have decided to start doing some reviews on some smart phones and Laptops

I will start with a Laptop i.e Portege R835, anew medium ended laptop by Toshiba.....Have a look!

The New Portege 800
Last year, Toshiba launched its Protege 700 series which was considered as a best laptop of that year. This year Toshiba has launched it new Portege 800 series, which retains the dynamicity of the 13 inch Portege Laptops and comes with a few additional features, one of which that is most talked about is its powerful battery.

The portege 800 series laptops have almost the same body of the R700 series, with a few exceptions. The bluish metal alloy body looks elegant as ever, but the sides of the screen is overly chromed and gives a cheap feeling to laptop. The laptop is quite light 3.2 pounds, just like its counter parts in the same category but not as thin like MacBook Air or Samsung 9 series. The laptop reaches a maximum height of 1.1 inches and a minimum of 0.7 inches, hence, the light weight.
The keyboard has the famous trendy look of island keys that are widely spaced and gives a nice look. The keys are more rectangular in shape rather than being square, which would cause typing errors. This style for keys would be selected in such manner so that the size of touch pad could be increased and that is why we see a spacious touch pad and palm rest below the keyboard. The tactile buttons for left and right click are big as well. The keyboard is not backlit and it’s hard to find the keys because many keys are moved from their conventional location, especially Enter and the Right Shift key. As you can see below

The upper lid has the shiny screen with the resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The viewing angles of the screen are a bit disappointing and so is the audio, which has always been a letdown in Portege laptops. The R800 series is equipped with Intel HD 3000 graphics accelerator, which cannot be considered as a dedicated graphics option, but it was able to play some of the games, like Unreal Tournament 3, at a fair enough speed.

The laptop has a current generation Core-i processor in it and has a very nice 4 GB of memory that could be increased to 8 GB max. The hard disk is of 640GB with 5400 rpm. This combination enables a user to do multitasking without any hiccup. The R835 performed so well that it out mastered Samsung 9 series and the irony is that one could by two Portege laptops in the price of one Samsung 9. The laptop has quite a few notable expansion ports as USB 3.0 port, HDMI pat. The Laptop’s battery is the biggest pros, with 7 hours video playback support, the battery performance has stunned many critics till now.
The new Toshiba Portege R835 is a new 13 inch category laptop that could be used as an alternative to MacBook Pro. The machine is equipped with a second generation Intel Core-i processor and has a very powerful battery, but has a few down sides, such as missing Bluetooth and mobile hot Spot support. But, overall it could be considered as a pretty nice buy within an $800 budget.

THE HISTORY OF HIP HOP CULTURE

Many of us believe that hip hop is a music genre, but unfortunately we are wrong. Hip hop is more of a dance technique cum repeated singing along method. The genre of Rap music is sometimes confused with Hip Hop. The Hip Hop history is considered very old and originates from Jamaican island. In Jamaica, there is a tradition of making toasts in dinners or get together.

On a very same Jamaican night, a DJ named Kool Herc, was playing music, when he started to use different lines along the songs. With that he also started using two records on different turntables and started to control them manually with his hands and thus the lines of the songs starts repeating. That became a regular thing, where DJs would begin a song on two different records and then start repeat the songs, and it became a huge success as this way of music play is really appreciated by fans of all kinds of music lover, because Hip Hop is more of a culture than music.

THE SHINING DARK OF THE MOON

Saw the movie on the first day of release, 29th June, and was able to just make it, because it was so crowded. Almost everyone from all age genres were there. There was a lot of fuss, and people were going for 3D, but more were going for 2D

The film, yes, the film has its moment. The film starts with a good detailed but a bit disoriented Cybertron, you will see what I mean. We are introduced to the new character Carly, the replacement for Makaila (Megan Fox) at the very start, but a bit abruptly. Mommy and Daddy Witwicky were there as well, I thought that Mommy Witwicky has a bit more mature character this time, but wrong again, you'll see. And then came the Autobots.......Optimus Prime, Bumble Bee, Iron Hide, Ratchet, SideSwipe, CliffHanger, Arcee and a mad scientist of an Aoutobot, I guess Jolt is there as well and a few new Autobots, a total of 9.

Sam Witwicky (Shia Labeouf), is brilliant as ever, especially his freaked out screams 'WwAAAAAA.......WWAAAAAAA..AAAAAAAAAAAAAA.......Bumble Beeeeeeeeee!!'

But the most engaging character of the film is the Sentinal Prime. Kind of a father to Optimus Prime and the Einstein of his Planet. His character is very important, and transforms into his famous Fire Engine and you will be kind of relieved to hear that he is on Autobots and a very nice friend to Optimus.

The mostly beloved Lennox (Josh Dumahell) is team there as well, with Agent Simmons and his new assistant Dutch are fun to watch. the sequence of the wing-suits jump is brilliant. You might come to  know that how widespread the network of these robots is in our world as suggested in the 2nd movie. There are a few scenes in the movie that would stun you for a while, as was everyone in the movie theater. they were like 'o' for quite a few minutes. When you see those scenes to have a look around at everyone's faces and I assure you that you'll enjoy.

The thing that I didn't liked about is that they deliberately used the Iranian Flag in a sequence that many people would find offensive. There wasn't any need to show that.

The CGI is brilliant, some sequence would give you goosebumps. But, critics are saying that there was a lot of CGI involved, but what they are forgetting is that more than 50% of the main characters are Robots. I dont know why they forget such detailed points while critisizing.

You might see a few loose ends in the movie but overall the movie is great. I would give it a B+.  I could have written the whole synopsis here but that would be spoiling the movie. Please do go and see the movie as you might be missing one of the best cinema sensation of all time.

UFO MOTHERSHIP IN LONDON, UK ON JUNE 24th 2011

Well, Londoners seem to be in action on Friday when the partly cloudy skies of UK became host of White glowing disc like objects or UFOs with a mother ship That came around a few times from the clouds to show her beauty  and maybe to call her baby objects/ships, saying 'Time to go home boys'  ;).
The first time I saw the video, I said 'Ha! FAKE!'. But then after watching a few times more and seeing the random passing by people stopping and looking up as there is actually something and the fact that the movement like such has to be some sort of hovering object made me realize that it could be real. Here is the video

Yeah it sort of looks like fake, for the fact that, why did the cameraman walked to the edge of  the road where everyone else was watching. But then I thought that I should have done the same thing. To avoid being called fake. He/she came to the busiest part of the road to let the viewers know that hey! I am not the only delusional bloke over here. And surely many people started to look up by every passing second.

What? Not convinced? I wasn't either. But then another video from some other part of London captured the same Objects on camera. Watch this

You can hear the Japanese people back there saying something quite fast and saying something like Look at that. Now I though that hey! maybe it is for real,

So still to  prove some reliability to the news, I thought that maybe someone else had captured it as well, other than the people in the above videos. So, I got another one. Same day, and of course in London

Now, maybe many of you had changed your mind, accepting that maybe it is real. But in these time when you can make movies like Transformers :) (going to see it on Thursday 30th June). You can make a few object appear in the sky easily. I am still doubtful, but just by 20% that it could be fake....but still I have a few questions from the person, who made the first video.

WE CAN SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE MAKING VIDEOS AT THAT TIME....WHY DID ONLY THIS VIDEO COMES ONLINE...IS HE/SHE HAS A LOT OF EXTRA TIME (10 MINUTES) TO GO ONLINE AND UPLOAD HIS VIDEO WHILE OTHERS THINK ON THE CONTRARY. WHERE ARE THE OTHER VIDEOS??

WHY NOT SELL IT TO SOME NEWS CHANNEL??

IS HE/SHE AFRAID THAT THEY MIGHT GET CAUGHT OF SELLING EDITED/FAKE VIDEO?

You might come to know in a few days that it was a combined project of some fanatics who randomly shot the skies of Landon from different places and then edited it. You might not!

And maybe after getting a 100,000 views or more, some people would come out Claiming to have made these videos, using adobe or some other software.

But there are some people who are determined that IT IS REAL!!. Here is one video in which one person ran the video through different color filters and claims that the video is in no way edited, because there are no rough edges in the mother ship. Clock on the video to go to youtube to read what the guy has to say on the filtered results.

Oh alright, am feeling a bit generous, here you go, here is the link as well.

color filtered alien mother ship 'o'

This might help a bit. You see in such filtered videos, any computer generated graphics especially round objects tend to show polygonal characteristics, like hexagonal or octagonal shapes. You can see yourself that there aren't any distinctive edges of the mother ship. Hats Off to this guy, to go through the pain of filtering the video!.

Well its upto you now to decide if its fake or real. I actually hope that one day we are actually attacked by Aliens so that the world gets united once again and stand on one common ground, even if it happens for the one last time (Independence Day the movie). Ooooh! 4th of July is coming as well.

Just kidding people. No seriously, it would be fun right? ;)

WE ARE LOSING AXIS HERE!!

According to the Italian-based National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, the magnitude 8.9 earthquake that struck Japan in March, caused the axis of  our planet to shift by approximately ten centimetres. Experts believe that "this has [shifted] the axis of rotation of the Earth [further] than the 2004 earthquake in Sumatra."

According to La Nación, the impact of the Japanese earthquake caused an energy release one hundred times larger than that of the one in Haiti. Leading the research at the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Antonio Piersanti stated that "[o]ur estimate is not derived from direct measurements, which require much more time, but theoretical calculations.”
Richard Gross, of NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab, was responsible for discovering the extent to which the planet's axis hd been shifted by the Chile Earthquake in 2010. He claimed that there "should be no impact [from] this change in rotation on daily life."
Gross explained: "Although we have not evaluated the measurements of the Earth's rotation, my calculations indicate that the change in the distribution of land masses caused by the Japanese earthquake may have caused the Earth to rotate a little faster, shortening the length of day about 1.6 microseconds." He said that despite the fact that "[t]his change in the position of the axis of rotation will cause the Earth to wobble a bit different[ly] as it rotates," the planet's axis would not alter in Space.
The source is an Spanish paper related to the Japanese earthquake, but the point of writing all this here is that if one earthquake of 8.9 can change our axis point, we should not forget that earth is millions if not billions of year old. And also, have you ever seen a dangling chair? That dangles on just one foot for some time, balanced, would be an appropriate word, and then.....Bam! it topples down. What if earth has a limit as well? What if earth might is a meter away from toppling? They say that the Chilean and the Haiti earthquake affected the earth’s axis. What if a few more of these.... and we are done for it. It’s just some food for thought for you people. Ask your government to look into it, before it is too late

Pirates of Somalia

Last week, a ship known as MV Suez, was freed from the Somalian Pirates after 10 months. Around 21 people were fugitive of these pirates in the Mediterranean. All the fugitives had lost their hope in their governments as the pirates had demanded a ransom amount of $2.1 million and no one thought they should spend some of their leisure money on these poor fellow earthlings. 21 people and $2.1 million, a hundred thousand dollar for each person, but no one was willing to pay for them, not any NGOs either.

But suddenly, out of the blue, a country considered to be harvesting terrorists, giving a hideout for Osama, stood up to save these poor human beings from the agony. The rescue was a combined effort of a welfare organization, the government of Sindh and Pakistan Navy. The Welfare organization 'Ansar Burney Trust' gathered $2.1 million in 10 days and freed the fugitives, what should have been done 10 months ago by any government of the world, Indian, Egypt or considerably US or UK, the Pioneers of Humanity. But, it was done by the government that had just suffered a Rs. 6 billion loss on 22nd of May, 2011 and is spending a lot fighting terrorism as well.

But look at the Irony. The countries that asks the Pakistani Government to do more against terrorism is fighting against just one dictator in Libya. Rather than going against these pirates for killing and robbing people on ships, which is, in simple words an Open Act of Terrorism, who still have more than 20 ships captured and are due for the ransom, they opt to spend billions of dollars, fighting off one man in one country. Instead of bombing these pirates in open sea, they think its better to bomb a city with innocent civilians in it. Recently 9 innocent civilians by the air assualt on Libya.

All we can do or should do is to request the officials of these governments to look upon this pirates problem and try to completely obliterate these Terrorists of the face of the sea and do something about these 20 above ships that are still under the control of these pirates. It wont even kill a single civilian and for once the world might be united for one cause.
